This unit enhances designer technical abilities by building on a personal, unique understanding of the technology range applicable to the practical context of bespoke tailoring. My expertise was developed through the supportive technologies of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacture (CAM) in my practice. These skills are at the forefront of the contemporary fashion industry and, ultimately, increased my potential to become a future industry innovator.

An artisan is defined as a skilled maker in a particular specialism, especially one that involves making things by hand using traditional methods and high-quality materials. This unit required me to be predictive and have an open mind to question what a future artisan might be, considering the technologies that will impact my specialism career and develop my inner creative world.

Over the past 20 years, our lives have changed beyond recognition. We carry a plethora of smart gadgets, access information in an instant and connect to our friends in seconds. Technology touches all aspects of our lives, prompting high expectations of our products and a strong desire for individuality and customisation.
